Discover who we are
We're a tight-knit team who, combined, have made Tulip Accounting the success it is today. Get a feel for who we are from the profiles below:
My career started in Practice which gave me the foundation needed for today. Moving to work in Industry then satisfied a need for challenge and variety. Prior to setting up Tulip Accounting in 2006, my career concentrated in the construction and service industries; involved in developing accounts systems and procedures to meet the demands of business with the ever developing systems available. These skills were invaluable when in 2000 I became a publican, growing a village pub to be a thriving success over the following 6 years.
In this time I learnt a great deal about small and medium sized businesses, about communities and the value of having good people around you. Having become used to working for myself, I started up Tulip Accounting and haven't looked back. I work with an amazing team and we all have the same goal – to provide our clients with a quality of service that delivers over and above every day. Plus we enjoy what we do - that is what really makes the difference and our clients benefit from this on a daily basis.
In 2014 I joined Tulip Accounting to support Sarah in the management of the practice. As the business has grown so has my role, particularly in the management of client workflow, now supporting other businesses in this area too. I enjoy the hands on bookkeeping roles I have, supporting clients with their sales and purchase ledgers, developing and maintaining relationships with both their clients and suppliers. Having worked with Sarah before, the experience gained working in pub and event management gives me a good knowledge to support these clients, understanding the needs and challenges of their industries
With a young family now too life is busy and full of challenges, best way to be!
2024 brings my 11th anniversary of working at Tulip. Working with some amazing clients over a range of industries I enjoy the challenges that multiple systems & integrations bring. Supporting both clients and the team, we develop processes to streamline the accounts systems to provide timely and essential reporting to our clients. Consistency is important in our service and the relationships we hold with our clients, which I very much enjoy. Embracing and meeting the challenges we are given by the needs of our clients makes what we do so interesting.
I enjoy being able to work around family life, our 2 children both still at school. It is fun having dogs in the office, though not sure my cats would agree!
My career started in teaching and provided me with great job satisfaction, honing in on my administration and attention to detail and utilising my multitasking skills. All these valuable skills are utilised now working at Tulip Accounting where I also get extensive variety, the job is interesting and I learn something every day.
Supporting clients with their credit management, I engage with a large number of people to ensure invoices are paid on time, queries are investigated and resolved, all essential in cash management. I work with a good number of our clients managing their purchase ledgers, expenses and credit card transactions. Timely processing is important to ensure deadlines are met both for management reporting and HMRC filings.
With a young family, I just love being able to work as well as being a mum and still find time to enjoy running and exercise.
My background is operations management in the hospitality sector. Studying AAT whilst bringing up my family began the transition to accounts. Good organisation is key to working in a busy accounting practice, and for me, as I work with a large number of our clients on bookkeeping, payroll and vat returns.
Every day is different to the next as you never know what clients might need from you. I enjoy the relationships we develop with our clients and interacting with the rest of the team as we work to meet the monthly filing deadlines.
My career before family was around customer service and administration management. Now that my family have grown up I really enjoy working here at Tulip as PA to Sarah. My role is varied as I assist in a range of tasks supporting her and the team. We work using one accounts system, Xero, but lots of other systems alongside. It is great to learn about all of these and to be able to provide such a variety of administrative support as they need it.
My first role at Tulip was in providing the team with administrative support whilst I completed my AAT studies following a BA degree in Economics in Hungary.
I now have my own clients and provide bookkeeping and payroll services whilst also supporting members of the team with some of our larger clients ledgers. I enjoy the variety of the work and learn something everyday!
Most of my family are in Hungary and I'm glad of the work/life flexibility offered by Tulip to be able to see them regularly with my husband and boys when time and opportunity allows.
I joined Tulip in 2022 after living abroad for many years. My career has been in accounts, specialising in credit management including leading credit control teams in the Cayman Islands.
In addition to supporting our clients' credit control needs, I also look after the purchase ledgers for our clients in the hospitality, film and publishing sectors.
With 2 wonderful children life is busy and fun. Being able to have flexibility at work has meant I can juggle it all making me a master of multi-tasking! In my free time I enjoy scuba diving, travel…and collecting candles!
After passing an O’level in Accounts (quite rare back then!) I began my career in the City. Working in banking for 20 years, mainly in international finance and dealing with bonds, equities and derivatives. Some of my time was spent in an IT department helping to develop new software to account for the different financial products we offered.
After having my family I decided to capitalise on an old skills and went back to college to study AAT, qualifying in 2012. After working for a local accounts firm I moved to work for a local entrepreneur, managing his multiple companies. I joined Tulip in July 2024 where I enjoyed the more diverse business range. Every day is different, which is something I appreciate and suits my personality. I am enjoying working along side such lovely people.
My hobbies are dog walking, running, cycling and gardening. Park Run every Saturday satisfies my competitive edge, and the gardening is therapeutic.
Specialising in consultancy and advice for the pub and bar industry, I bring an area of expertise to Tulip Accounting for our pub and restaurant clients. With over 30 years' experience in the trade, I offer stocktaking services backed by sound advice on managing GPs, stock and site/staff management, helping maintain and increase profit margins. Together with the financial systems used by Tulip Accounting, we offer publicans and restaurateurs a complete package, leaving them to focus valuable time and effort on running successful businesses.
